ABOUT THE SHIPSTON ARCHERS
Set up in 2015, on the 600th anniversary of the battle of Agincourt, Shipston Archers is, primarily, a target archery club, affiliated to ArcheryGB, and part of a network of archery clubs across the UK. The club is also registered with both the West Midlands Archery Society and the Coventry and Warwickshire Archery Association.
Originally set up to provide archery facilities for the local High School, it soon became obvious that we needed to expand and the club, as it stands today, was born. A grant was negotiated with Sport England and the rest is history. Finding a safe shooting range has not been easy, but we have been made welcome in Brailes, and the future looks bright. We seem to be the first choice for hosting the annual County Championships and we have also attracted the support of the County coaches, for training events and courses.
Our regular shooting sessions are on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, though we can be a bit more flexible depending on the demands placed on the field – it is a VERY popular local facility. We shoot outdoors during Spring and Summer, moving indoors during Autumn and Winter. We are also lucky to have a good selection of equipment for beginners of all ages and abilities, and our coaches are always available to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment for those who wish to take up the sport, either competitively or as a more leisurely pastime.
On the instructional side, we have fully licenced AGB Level 1 and Level 2 coaches. We welcome keen-to-learn juniors as well as more senior archers and we are also registered as a “return to archery” centre for those who have been away from the sport for a period of time.

Our outdoor range is based in Brailes, a village local to Shipston on Stour. We have been able to negotiate the hire of the grounds at the weekend, apart from the odd caravan rally and village fete!

If you decide to pay us a visit, and we welcome all, you will find the range area, behind the hall building, to the left as you enter the car park.

Don't have your own equipment? We have a good selection of equipment available for beginners to use!
